Canada Student Loan Program
Canadian students can apply for Canadian Federal loans, Provincial loans and Federal grants (Scholarships Canada).
The Canada Student Loans Program (CSLP) offers financial assistance to those students who have been out of high school for four years and do not have parental annual gross income as a factor in determining the amount of their loan. This is important, as many students studying overseas have completed a four-year undergraduate bachelor’s degree at the time of entering one of the universities. The usual loan awarded varies by province.
Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Québec do not participate in CSLP directly but offer their own financial assistance programs for students. The CSLP delivers student financial assistance in partnership with most provinces and territories. These loans are interest-subsidized by the Canadian government while the student is enrolled in school and maintaining satisfactory academic progress, as determined by the individual province. Below you will find a listing of the available funding by Province.
Alberta Student Financial Assistance
Student Aid Alberta helps eligible students meet the basic costs of learning and living so they can achieve their educational goals. When applying, students are considered for loans and grants from both Student Aid Alberta and the CSLP.

B.C. student loans are provided by the provincial government and Canada student loans are provided by the federal government. These loans are managed as a single Canada-B.C. integrated loan at theNational Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC).
